Candle Care & Safety
Just in case you are unsure, here are some instructions to ensure you get the best possible experience from my hand made candles.
Candles (not in a glass) must be burnt on or in something that will catch the pooling wax, on a stable, flat and heat resistant surface.
Please do not allow water or moisture to mix with the wax, as this can cause popping and splattering of the wax.
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep candles away from draughts and anything flammable.
Keep candles well out of the reach of children and pets.
When you light your glass candle for the first time, make sure the wax pools all the way to the outer edge of the glass or container, allowing a full pool helps achieve an even burn and prevents 'tunnelling', which will limit the life of the candle.
Always trim your wick to about 5mm (1/4") before you re-light your candle. This will ensure a long-lasting candle and minimise soot. Remove any mushrooming of carbon on the end.
Only trim the wick when it has completely cooled. Be sure not to over trim the wick. If the wick is to short it will result in a small flame and will not reach the edge of the candle or container.
Enjoy your Candles
